University of Iowa News Release

The University of Iowa Museum of Art is sponsoring a free bus trip for UI students to participate in “College Night” at the Figge Art Museum in Davenport on Oct. 28. The bus will leave the UI Studio Arts Building at 6 p.m. and will return at 11 p.m. Cambus routes from downtown and parking are available at the Studio Arts Building.

The Figge’s “College Night” is themed around the exhibition "Dancing Towards Death" and will include performances, creative activities, music and light refreshments. Students are encouraged to wear black clothing and masks. The trip also offers the opportunity to view the ongoing exhibition "A Legacy for Iowa: Pollock's 'Mural'" and Modern Masterworks from the University of Iowa Museum of Art.

UI students must stop by the UIMA offices located in the Studio Arts building, 1375 Highway One West, to sign up for the free trip. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. UI faculty and staff members can also attend for free by displaying their UI ID card, but they must find their own transportation. Call 319-335-3676 for more information.

Randy and Linda Lewis are sponsoring the free bus trip.
