Join us for our first storytime with the LGBTQ Iowa Archives and Library! We’ll be reading Red: A Crayon’s Story by Michael Hall. The story follows the journey of a crayon that has a “red” paper label, but everything they draw turns out blue. After trying to be red and failing, they find a friend who helps them embrace who they are and celebrate their beauty.

After the story, kids are invited to explore the galleries with a special “blue” scavenger hunt and red-themed self-guided tour. Don’t forget to get your prize after completing the scavenger hunt!
