Party for art at the next University of Iowa Museum of Art (UIMA) First Friday reception at FilmScene! UIMA First Fridays provide an ideal chance to usher in your weekend, enjoy the work of ceramic artist Ron Meyers, and mingle with other art-enthusiasts.
Ron Meyers has been in clay for over 30 years. He is known for his loose, whimsical and pictorial approach to utilitarian pottery. He received 1967 M.F.A. degree in ceramics from the School for American Craftsmen, Rochester Institute of Technology, and B.S. (1956) and M.S. (1961) degrees in art education from State University of New York College at Buffalo. Meyers recently retired from teaching, and is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Georgia in Athens. He is an internationally known artist whose work is collected in the US and abroad.
First Fridays are free and open to the public with complimentary popcorn and a cash bar.
