According to Webster’s Dictionary, an earwig is defined, other than as an insect, as “A whisperer of insinuations; a secret counselor.” Used as a verb earwig means “To influence, by whispered insinuations or private talk.” In this amusing wordplay/assemblage series Picard mocks the East Hampton art scene.

Picard also created an earwig “dress” and performed “Earwig Theatre” in the 12th Avant Garde Festival.
