Join the Stanley Museum of Art, the UI Libraries, and the UI Museum of Natural History for the Iowa City Downtown District's Fall Gallery Walk! This annual free event invites everyone to take a self-guided tour of shops and galleries showcasing local art and exhibitions in downtown Iowa City. You don't want to miss these three premier campus destinations:

Stanley Museum of Art: To kick-off the Downtown Gallery Walk, the Stanley will launch the latest iteration of its Thresholds: Poetry series with a 45-minute presentation by American poet, Guggenheim Fellow, Pulitzer Prize finalist and Iowa Writers' Workshop alum, Robyn Schiff. An excerpt of Schiff's book-length poem, Information Desk: An Epic, offering a wry, ekphrastic meditation on art and museum life, will be featured on the lobby wall that visitors can enjoy following the talk. Enjoy refreshments and music in the lobby and head up to the galleries to explore the latest exhibitions on view.

Main Library Gallery: Stop by It’s Been Wonderful Knowing You: Wildlife Conservation and Advocacy Through the Lens of Jay N. “Ding” Darling to learn about the life and work of this Pulitzer Prize-winning political cartoonist. Darling was also one of the most influential figures in the early 20th-century American conservation movement. The exhibition features sketches and cartoons, photographs and correspondence, first edition books, original duck stamps, watercolors, and much more that help tell the story of an Iowan who became a devoted advocate for wildlife and the environment. Plus, see duck specimens from the UI Museum of Natural History!

UI Museum of Natural History: Duck, duck, goose! After exploring the latest at the Stanley Museum of Art and the Main Library Gallery's fresh installation featuring some of our duck collection, come discover even more ducks on display in Bird Hall! Join us at the Museum of Natural History on the 3rd floor of Macbride Hall for a stamp, our monthly Art & Write Night program, and birds galore.
