Open Call: Share your Stories at the Stanley on Feb. 4

The Stanley Museum of Art is hosting a walk-in call for stories or memories related to Keith Haring's mural at Ernest Horn Elementary School on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024.

If you were a student, employee, or parent associated with Horn Elementary in the 1980s, when Haring visited Iowa City, or you became part of the school's community in the decades since then, what does this mural mean to you?

Stop by the Stanley between 1 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4 to share your story. Museum staff will be stationed in the lobby to check you in. Selections from the audio or video interviews we record will be included in our forthcoming exhibition, To My Friends at Horn: Keith Haring in Iowa City

Whether or not you have a story to share, drop by to be part of this special community gathering. Enjoy refreshments in the lobby, connect with fellow Keith Haring enthusiasts and explore the galleries.

This event is open to all—we encourage you to let us know about your interest to attend in advance to avoid wait times. RSVP here.
