Making Materials Matter

Making Materials Matter is a visual journey through time, space and materials with Suzanne Tick, where she will share insights into her design process and the cultivation of emerging ideas and trends that are translated into sustainable product.

Suzanne Tick is a CEO, textile designer and weaver based in New York City - she received a bachelor's degree in woven design from the University of Iowa and an associate degree in applied arts from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Tick maintains a hand weaving practice and creates fine art woven sculptures from repurposed materials on the two looms in the space that are collected and exhibited worldwide. She is known for her sustainability and wellness approach to design. Her work has been exhibited in MoMA, Cooper Hewitt, MAD, Art Basel and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
