Sunday With the Docents | Pairing Art with Literature

Sunday With the Docents | Pairing Art with Literature promotional image

Pairing Art with Literature will be led by Stanley Docent David Duer. Participants will consider and discuss selected artists, such as Pueblo potter Lucy M. Lewis, and their artworks in light of kindred writers and their literary works.

David Duer is a poet and memoirist who recently retired from teaching English language arts at Cedar Rapids Washington High School. He is a docent at the Stanley Museum of Art and the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, a member of the Iowa City Poetry Advisory Board, and a part-time teacher at Scattergood Friends School. His short memoir pieces can be found online at From Now On.

This tour is part of the Sundays with the Docents program where Stanley docents create unique tours to share with our audiences throughout the year. Walk-ins are welcome on the tour, but using the sign up is strongly recommended as tours are capped at 20 participants.
