Explain your experience working with/ for the Stanley.

As a student employee at the Stanley, I have worked as a Gallery Host, Gallery Host Lead, and Campus Engagement Coordinator. Through these roles, I have been able to see firsthand the impacts the museums make on our community. Moreso, I have been able to help create some really exciting events at the Stanley.

How did your involvement at the Stanley complement your studies/ career plan?

I am a Social Justice Major with a Museum Studies Certificate. Prior to working at the Stanley, I had no idea I wanted to work in museums. However, through this job and adding the certificate, I have been able to really see a future for myself in museums. Furthermore, I have been able to bridge social justice and museum studies through my internship as Campus Engagement Coordinator and even my Senior Capstone.

What was your favorite moment or part of working at the Stanley?

I would say my favorite part of working at the Stanley would definitely be meeting so many amazing people. For a lot of us, we aren't just coworkers but also friends. So, I will definitely miss seeing the GHs every day.

Where are you headed next?

I will be attending (remotely) Western Illinois University for a master's degree in museum studies. I have no idea where I will be living after graduation, but I am excited to see where the future take me 🙂

What will you miss most about the University of Iowa?

I think that I will miss the community the most! Also, maybe the Cortado falafel burger (iykyk).
