A view of the whole event; groups of students sit clustered around folding tables working on their projects; others mill about gathering supplies from the tables (fabric scraps, needles, thread) and chatting with other event attendees.

For our last installment of our Night at the Museum series for this semester we held a stress-relief patch making workshop to de-stress from classes. Students were able to grab some hot chocolate or cider, and a snack, and relax while making their patches.

We provided fabric scraps, lace, thread, and needles along with different colored tote bags and pencil bags to sew designs onto. For the first time this semester we ran out of supplies, it was so great to see how many people were able to come! It was so fun to see students come in and see old friends or come in with their friend groups, along with seeing what designs everyone came up with.

A close up view of a student's patchwork project: the name "Sarena" patchworked onto a white canvas pencil case, each letter of the name cut out of a different patterned piece of fabric.

We saw everything from birds, to people's names, to fruit, and everything in between! Students were also able to take inspiration from the example patches we made, and the mood board slideshow of different patches others had made.

So many students who came in were also able to get another (or final!) stamp in their Stanley Student Challenge card, which they can turn in during finals week for a free custom Stanley Baggu!
