For our second installment this semester of our Night at the Museum series, we hosted a Girls’ Night event! We teamed up with WRAC (Women’s Resource and Action Center) for Women’s History Month to create a collage night focused on women in the arts and local women’s history.
We offered journals to collage in, magazines, collage books, stickers, and images from the Iowa Women’s Archives for students to use, as well as a DIY button maker for students to turn their creations into a pinback button! WRAC also provided coloring sheets and helped Campus Engagement Coordinator Annelies Knight to create a pamphlet about women artists in the Stanley and around Iowa City.

It was so fun to see so many students come in, grab a snack, create, and head upstairs to find the artists featured in the Women in Art pamphlet (or just hang out and listen to our all-women musician playlist we had going!).
So many students were also able to get their first stamp on their Stanley Student Challenge Card, getting them closer to a free Stanley Baggu or Nalgene watter bottle!
