School's Out at the Stanley
When local K-12 schools are closed or canceled, the Stanley invites kids and their families to stop by the museum for kid-centered activities and snacks in the lobby. Then, head up to the galleries to try your hand at our scavenger hunts and find a new favorite artwork.
School's Out at the Stanley | Upcycled Owl Assemblage

On your day off from school, kids turn bottle caps, jar lids, and other found objects into an upcycled owl while learning how artists build assemblages. Registration required.
School's Out at the Stanley | Winter Tin Box Diorama
Wednesday, November 18, 2026 2:00pm to 3:30pm
On their day off from school, kids build a miniature winter scene inside a tin box and learn how artists create depth in a small space. Registration required.
Stanley Creates
A free, family-friendly event offered twice a semester at the Stanley Museum of Art. It provides an opportunity for families to experience the museum together through an art-making activity that takes inspiration from the Stanley collection. During their visit to the museum, families are encouraged to use the Stanley Family Guide and participate in a self-guided tour of the exhibitions.
